How would you like to take surveys for a company that pays $50 per survey?
Well, as long as you are not camera-shy then, Mindswarms, might be something for you to check out.
What Exactly is Mindswarms?
Mindswarms is an online survey site that helps companies collect important marketing/consumer data and then store it in a database to be retrieved when needed. Companies like being able to access this information when they need to study a demographic of the population. For example, a company may want to see how many people in a mid-western town exercise six times a week.
How Does Mindswarms Work?
Mindswarms works a little differently than most other survey taking sites. Instead of sitting at your PC or laptop and clicking a button or typing in a questionnaire form to be submitted, Mindswarms has you on camera taking the survey. You will be using your webcam to record your answers.
Once you sign up for Mindswarms by creating an account with an email and information as well as setting up your webcam to their specifications, you can get started. Screening questions for certain surveys will be sent to you via email. Answer the pre-screening questions and send them back. If you are a match for a particular survey, then you will receive a link to it.
Click on the link and then log into your account’s dashboard. Answer the questions verbally out loud. Your body language and facial expressions are just as important as your answers. If you have ever studied psychology or criminal law, then you know that sometimes body language is even more important than answers. Most surveys take approximately 20 minutes.
You may login and take as many surveys as you like and whenever you like.
Mindswarms does like to see the following criteria in your survey video:
- lighting around your face
- you dressed casually and just being yourself
- giving longer answers rather than one-worded or short answers
- no background noise so you can be focused on the survey
- showing emotion if needed (certainly within the context of decency)
Are There Any Special Skills or Computer Equipment Needed to Work at Mindswarms?
All potential survey takers should be at least 18 years old with good reading skills and the ability to follow instructions. Workers from other countries are also encouraged to come aboard.
As far as computer equipment, you will need a webcam hooked up to a laptop or PC. It probably goes without saying that your PC or laptop should have anti-virus and anti-malware protection as well as any recent updates to your operating system. You can also use your Smartphone or iPhone if you like.
Are You an Independent Contractor or an Employee at Mindswarms?
You are an independent contractor and responsible for your own taxes. Should you make over $600 a year, you will receive a 1099 Tax Form from Mindswarms. Even though some workers have gone on to make it a good part-time income, you still are an independent contractor.
What is the Pay Like at Mindswarms and When is Pay Day?
Again, the pay is between $10 to $50 (sometimes more!) for a survey taking approximately 20 minutes. Most surveys do average around the $50 mark, but there may be some who don’t like appearing on a webcam and need something shorter and simplier. Payments are made within a 24-hour period via PayPal.
What is My Overall Opinion of Mindswarms?
I am quite impressed with Mindswarms and its ability to actually reward people for their time. I don’t know of any other survey site that pays this much or uses webcams to do the surveys. Most survey sites only pay a few dollars, let alone $10 or $50+.
How Would an Interested Individual Apply to Mindswarms?
If interested, go to the sign-up area of their website. You might want to also take the time to read the information on their site. It is all neatly laid out on a one-page site. Good luck to all who apply.
My Coaching Two Cents’ Worth
While, I do publish a jobs report of GOOD work-at-home jobs that pay much better than most, I don’t always put a lot of emphasis on that—especially survey sites. In my opinion, many of them really are not worth your time. However, I believe that this one is.
You just never know how your independent livelihood will show up in your life! Sometimes just being willing to do a survey or thing about something different might help “jar” your mind into thinking about something different.
Good luck pursuing this.
